  • 06:19pm afretired2008: My heart and soul goes out Nick's family, close friends and teammates. How tragic this is for many in our local community. His death was so unnecessary, especially at such a promising young age. May God comfort those in need during this time of mourning.

  • 01:52am jkelly30: I remember I had Nick as a 10yr old in a local baseball camp..we put him in the 14-15 yr old groups because his talent was unreal for his age. I knew he was going to be special, even then. I've enjoyed following his success, being a former pitcher myself and suffering from arm injuries, I was rooting for him to comeback strong...well, he did. My prayers are with Nick and his family

  • 09:56am TJ: I am from Minnesota and did not know Nick or his family. Nick's dedication to and love of baseball mirrors that of my own son. My son's dream is to make it to the very place where Nick shone so brightly, professional baseball. I just want to let Nick's family and friends know that both my son and I have shed many tears since hearing about this tragedy. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time. You're fortunate to have so many wonderful memories of your son. Take care.

  • 05:10pm themartins: i am so heartbroken over this tragic lost! my sons played with nick and my husband had the honor of helping to coach nick at halfway little league. he was a great kid and a very fine young man. nick would have done anything for anyone, he was an inspiration to all who knew him and those who didn't. my family have nothing but fond memories of nick and his family. Janet,Jimmy,Duane and lil Henry our hearts go out to you all!!!! we feel your pain and am thinking about you all!
  • 07:56pm baseballdad: As a Dad of a 16 yr old who played in the Little League program in Wash Co from T-Ball through 12 yr old, I simply cannot finds words to describe how devastating this loss is to anyone who watched Nick grow up. While our son was 6 yrs younger, we went to several of his games and our son enjoyed immensely meeting Nick at area pitching clinics, where he volunteered his time. This loss was truly unfair to he and his family and only time will help heal the incredible pain. One lesson that should be taken from this as parents of Little Leaguer's, is to enjoy them playing as kids, which is what they are. These players want to enjoy the game for what it is, so Mom and Dad, ya need to let them. The fact is that 99.9% of them won't make it to the Major's, so enjoy your kids while they enjoy the game. Life is soooooo fragile, remember that any day may be our last, forget the importance of stats and wins and take advantage of every single moment you have with your children! Make Nick's memory mean something!
  • 08:41pm millsfam: It's just awful what happened to him. This guy had everything going for him and because of a stupid decision made by a complete stranger, his life was taken long before it should have been. I didn't know him nor do I know his family but my thoughts are with you all.
  • 11:41pm docgraham: Nick I was so proud of you. Many of us are hurting pretty bad. Why send our guy home so early Lord? Why? My love goes out to Henry, Janet, Jimmy, and Duane. What an incredible supportive family.
  • 02:57pm macfromgeorgia: I am not originally from Maryland, but I lived in Columbia, Md. and my youngest son, Michael was born there. He is a student at Loyola Maryland in Baltimore. Having had two sons in T ball and little league, I am devastated to hear about the death of Nick Adenhart, this brilliant 22 year old with such a bright future. My heart goes out to the entire Adenhart family. My thought and prayers are with them at this most difficult time.
  • 12:00am Liz-Anne: I graduated from Hood College in Frederick Md, just down the road a piece from Williamsport. I have lived just miles from Angel St for nearly 30 years. I am a huge Angel's Fan. I am also the mother of 2 daughters in the prime of their lives, as Nick was and his 3 companions who were so tragically taken on Thursday evening. I was also at today's Angel's Red Sox game. There was/is a palpable and deep profound loss by every fan there and a touching and heartfelt memorial which has grown outside the stadium entrance. I want to express my sympathy and support to the Adenhart family. Today you could feel his presence.. truly an Angel in the outfield! His spirit and soul will live on. I am so sorry he didn't get to spend more time. Williamsport has much to be proud of and much to mourn. Bless you all that personally grieve this loss. There are so many who want you to know that we share in your pain. God Bless you. Heaven has one very special Angel added to their roster. He will line on in Anaheim and be missed.
  • 10:29am monof2boys: I just wanted to send my condolences to the family, the team, and the community of Nick. I'm a fan of baseball, only because of my experience of being a mother of two boys who excell in sports. I did not know Nick, however I am shedding tears for his immediate family, friends, and the team, for the sensless loss of this young man. Nick is two years younger than my youngest son, and I am so angry and can not comprehend the thoughts this person who did this had in his head when he went behind that steering wheel that night. I would like to send my thoughts and prayers to all who had the opportunity to experience the miracle of Nick. Everyone who knew him must feel blessed and special to have been lucky enough to have Nick in their life at one time or another. And to his parents, I embrace you both at this time in your life. Nick's passing has affected even people like me who never knew him, but wish they did!
