The Herald-Mail's annual Cookie Exchange

It's a few weeks before Christmas, and although you may not have visions of sugarplums dancing in your head, several of our readers have had visions of holiday cookies.

They shared their recipes for Lifestyle's annual cookie exchange and told why the cookies are special to them and their families.

Here are some recipes for the holiday treats. Additional recipes will be in Lifestyle Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Thanks to the readers who took the time to respond and bake goodies.

Try one or two. Make them a part of your holiday baking tradition.
