W.Va. man faces burglary charge

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Jefferson County man was in jail Friday on one count of burglary, which police say stemmed from a Christmas Eve incident in the Patrick Henry subdivision near Charles Town, W.Va., according to West Virginia State Police.

Kenneth Lee Hart, a resident of the subdivision, was arraigned Thursday by Magistrate Mary Paul Rissler, who set a $50,000 bond.

Police said the victim discovered Hart in her home along Lee Way when she was about to take a shower and that he fled when she screamed, according to a news release by First Sgt. E.D. Burnett.

Hart was arrested Jan. 9 by members of the Charles Town Police Department on an unrelated charge of burglary, police said.

The victim identified Hart as the perpetrator, Burnett said in the news release.
