Concession stands burglarized at parks
Several park concession stands were burglarized in February, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.
The stands were at Clear Spring Park, Martin L. "Marty" Snook Memorial Park in Halfway, Senior League Field and Valley Little League, the sheriff's department said in a news release on Friday.
Burglars pried open doors to get in. In one case, access was through a window.
The burglars opened ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard packets inside. They stole cash, a bag of baseballs and a black duffel bag.
The sheriff's department asks that anyone with information about the burglaries to call them at 301-791-3020.
Handgun found in Southampton Township
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said they found a .22-caliber handgun on Saturday.
The gun was found in the area of Meadow Drive in Southampton Township.
Police said the owner can claim the gun by calling Trooper Maher at 717-264-5161.
Truck stolen from Judy's Auto Sales
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Someone stole a silver 1994 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab with a cap on the bed last week, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The Silverado was taken on Thursday or Friday from Judy's Auto Sales on Lincoln Way East, police said in a news release.
Collectible coins stolen from Dublin Township
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - More than $1,800 in collectible coins were stolen from a home on Sheepskin Hollow Road in Dublin Township, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release on Sunday.
The theft happened sometime from Sept. 1, 2008, to Feb. 28, 2009, police said.
