Michael William "Mikey" Anderson, 26

Michael William "Mikey" Anderson, 26, of Hagerstown, passed away after a long, courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born March 3, 1983, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Michael E. and Jeanie E. (Shubert) Anderson of Hagerstown.
He was a 2001 graduate of South Hagerstown High School, where he played baseball, football and basketball.
He was an avid Orioles fan and played on the Maugansville Big League. He also enjoyed NASCAR and loved to "sup up" his own car.
He was formerly employed at Capital Building Supply in Hagerstown.
Michael was of Christian faith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Kelly J. Anderson, at home; aunt, Misty K. Pryor and her children, Kayla, Katlyn, Julia and Cassie, of Hagerstown; uncles, Paul Castle, Jr., William "Bill" Shubert Jr. and wife, Kim, and their children, Billy and Tyler, all of Hagerstown, Matthew J. Shubert and wife, Kathleen, and their daughter, Autumn, of Greencastle.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Robert Shubert, and is survived by his five children, Bobby Jr., Ashley, Roland, Cyrus and Brianna; paternal grandmother, Florence Castle of Williamsport; maternal grandmother, Jackie Shubert; paternal stepgrandmother, Ada Anderson, both of Hagerstown; great-aunts; great-uncles; a great-great-aunt; his beloved dog, Bella; and his many close friends.
In addition to his uncle, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Eddie Anderson; maternal grandfather, William "Bill" Shubert Sr.; and maternal stepgrandfather, Paul Castle Sr.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 30, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Father George A. Limmer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Leitersburg.
Friends will be received Wednesday, April 29, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
