Preps Area Roundup North girls snap eight-game losing streak
PREP SOFTBALL
WILLIAMSPORT North Hagerstown ended an eight-game losing streak Wednesday with a 7-1 victory over Williamsport, avenging a season-opening loss to the Wildcats.
I am very proud of the girls for the way they came to play today, North coach Amanda Fleming said. We just executed well in everything. This can be a confidence booster for our offense.
Rachel Amalfitano held Williamsport to just four hits.
I was a little nervous about the meat of their lineup, Amalfitano said. Williamsport has a strong offense, so I had to make sure that I was focused.
Allysen Breeden had three hits and two RBIs for the Hubs (6-9), who also benefitted from five Williamsport errors.
The Wildcats (6-5) got their only run in the fourth inning on a solo homer by Alexis Fisher, who finished with two hits.
