Man hospitalized after stabbing at Martinsburg club

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A man was at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center on Wednesday morning after he was stabbed during a fight early Wednesday at Legz Club on Aero Street in Martinsburg, Berkeley County (W.Va.) Sheriff’s Department Lt. Gary Harmison said.

The stabbing happened about 3:30 a.m. and involved a knife, Harmison said in a telephone interview.

The man first was taken to City Hospital in Martinsburg, a Berkeley County Emergency Services dispatcher said. He had been in stable condition about 5 a.m., but later was transferred to Winchester Medical Center, Harmison said.

Investigators were not sure whether the victim’s injuries were life-threatening, Harmison said.

The sheriff’s department was not yet releasing the names of the people involved in the stabbing, Harmison said.

No one had been charged in connection with the fight or stabbing, he said.
