Bunting's hat trick lifts Grace over Broadfording
BOYS SOCCER
Luke Bunting had a hat trick to lead Grace Academy past Broadfording Christian Academy 6-2 on Tuesday night in a matchup of the top two Mason Dixon Christian Conference squads.
The Knights (14-1, 11-0) completed a sweep of the Lions (13-3, 11-2). Grace defeated Broadfording 3-0 on Sept. 10.
Patrick Salvagno had two goals and an assist for the Knights, while Caleb Serafini added a goal and an assist. Zack Morgan recorded two assists, Andrew Michael had an assist and Kenny Frederickson made 12 saves, one on a penalty kick.
Jordan Whitt and Michael Torres each scored for the Lions.
North Hagerstown 3, Boonsboro 1
BOONSBORO — Frederick Owusu-Ayim notched a hat trick to lead North past Boonsboro in the MVAL Antietam.
Andreas Grahn, Andre DeSouza and Mavlyud Gilmanov each had an assist for the Hubs (8-3, 4-0).
Tyler Rossen scored for the Warriors (0-10, 0-4) to snap North’s string of five straight shutouts.

Jordan Payne scored in the first half on a Bryan Whitmore assist, while Alex Aleshire made four saves to record the shutout for the Wildcats (5-4-2, 3-1) in the MVAL Antietam.
The Rebels fall to 6-5, 2-2.

SMITHSBURG — Joey Barvir scored on an assist from Yusif Kadir, but Smithsburg fell to Catoctin in the MVAL Antietam.
Dan Gillen made six saves for the Leopards (1-10, 1-3).

Travis Barthalow had two goals as Heritage Academy defeated Cumberland Valley Christian in the MDCC.
Bryce Nigh had a goal, Mark Taggart, J.R. Dudeck and Aaron Clark each had an assist and Chad Lowry made 19 saves for the Eagles (7-4-1, 7-4-1).

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — Taylor Kirkpatrick scored on an assist from Jesse Herman as Greencastle-Antrim shut out Boiling Springs.
The Blue Devils (7-6-1) outshot Boiling Springs, 15-1.

Sara Rishell had 20 kills, 11 digs and seven blocks as Smithsburg swept South 25-14, 25-16, 25-16 in the MVAL Antietam to remain undefeated.
Taylor Belella had 24 assists, 15 service points and eight digs, Colleen Black had seven kills and Danielle Beaver added 13 digs for the Leopards (9-0, 4-0).
Rebecca Pearl had nine kills for the Rebels (4-5, 1-3).

Schultz finishes 18th
BERLIN, Md. — Beaver Çreek professional Dirk Schultz ended in 18th place in the Middle Atlantic PGA Tournament of Champions at GlenRiddle Golf Club.
Schultz, after an opening-round 79, shot a 6-over-par 78 on Tuesday in the second round. Faber Jamerson won the event with a 8-under 136.
