INWOOD, W.Va. — A Winchester, Va., man died Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle accident on eastbound W.Va. 51 in Inwood, according to West Virginia State Police.

James Wilmer Shell was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical examiner, police said in a news release.

Two ambulances, firefighters from the South Berkeley Volunteer Fire Co. and state police were dispatched to the accident, which was reported at 4:16 a.m., according to a Berkeley County Emergency Services dispatcher.

A Ford F-250 was westbound on W.Va. 51 when it went left of the center line and collided with the driver’s side of a Toyota Tacoma, according to Senior Trooper Philip Kennedy. Shell was driving the Toyota, Kennedy said.

Stuart Aaron Woodling, the driver of the F-250, and Mark Steven Geaghan, a passenger in Shell’s vehicle, were taken to City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va., with what Kennedy described as minor injuries

Woodling was listed in good condition Tuesday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said. Geaghan was treated at the hospital and released, she said.
