Blue Band to hold fundraiser at Roy's

The Williamsport High School Blue Band and the Band Boosters will host a fundraiser Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roy Rogers Restaurant at 1719 Massey Blvd.

Proceeds will go to help pay for the band's new uniforms. Tell the restaurant personnel you read about the fundraiser in the newspaper and a portion of your bill will go to the band.

New cars at mall

The 2010 models, presented by local vehicle dealerships, will be set up at Valley Mall Friday, Oct. 23.

Dramatic presentation to be held at church

Virginia Avenue Church of God, at 17306 Virginia Ave., will host a dramatic presentation titled "Women of the Bible" Friday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m.

This event is open to men, women and children ages 10 and older. Tickets cost $10 per person and may be purchased at the door.

Haunting History Walk planned in Williamsport

Springfield Farm Barn will host a Haunting History Walk on Sunday, Oct. 25, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Participants will take a tour of Williamsport then return to the barn for haunting tales by the Veiled Lady.

Church to hold bazaar and bake sale

St. Joseph Catholic Church, at the corner of Halfway Boulevard and Virginia Avenue, will hold its annual Christmas bazaar and bake sale Nov. 5 to 7.

It will be held in the parish center behind the church.

The hours are Thursday, Nov. 5, 5 to 8 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 6, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The bazaar features handmade gifts, decorations, wreaths, floral arrangements, baby items, table runners, snowmen, hard candy, a "White Elephant" table of Christmas treasures and other items.

The bake sale will include cookie trays, fudge, cookies, brownies, cakes and breads.

Soups, sandwiches, desserts and drinks will be available.

A raffle area will include a trimmed tree, snowman scene, floral arrangement, a hand-painted folk art piece and a handmade quilt. Raffle tickets cost $1 each or six for $5.
