Herald-Mail pie, cookie contests canceled
Due to the spread of H1N1 flu virus in our communities, The Herald-Mail has decided to cancel its food-based contests for this year.
We appreciate reader interest in our pie and cookie contests and plan to revive them when circumstances allow.

It is fine the Herald Mail deletes comments that may be contrary to their beliefs, but cancel a pie contest? I would need to research in the New England Journal of Medicine, but I am pretty sure no one has contracted H1N1 from pie. I am going to cancel my Herald Mail subscription. I will not be associated with a group of pie haters. (Report this comment)
HTizzle: Too funny! And you're right. Sure it starts with the pies and cookies but what's next? Censorship is a slippery pie slope... (Report this comment)
Cancel a pie and cookie contest...you've got to be kidding. What next? Cancel visting a resturant, cancel cooking dinner... Seems like the Herald-Mail is jumping on the H1N1 hysteria wagon. (Report this comment)
