2 charged with hunting violations
Two Washington County men have been charged with hunting violations, according to a Maryland Natural Resources Police press release.
Derrick Lamar Eby, 19, of Clear Spring, was charged Oct. 31 with hunting deer during closed season, according to the release.
Eby killed a whitetail deer with a shotgun while floating on Conococheague Creek, according to the release.
Joshua Daniel Reed, 18, of Hancock, was charged Nov. 10 with shooting from a roadway, loaded weapon in a vehicle, and fleeing and eluding a police officer, according to the release.
Natural Resources Police officers saw a 2004 Chevrolet Impala stopped in the roadway and a shot was fired from it, according to the release. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, Reed drove away at a high rate of speed and refused to stop, according to the release. Reed drove 17 miles before being stopped by Maryland State Police in Allegany County, according to the release.
