Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology Cumberland Valley chapter 27

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Tuesday, Oct. 14, 7 p.m., Renfrew Museum and Park Visitor’s Center, 1010 E. Main St. Dr. Marshall Becker will present a slide-illustrated lecture, “The Indians of Pennsylvania.” The presentation is free and open to the public.

Newcomers Unlimited

Barn Sale

Car raffle

Saturday, Oct. 11, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fairgrounds Park, Hagerstown. Hagerstown Motors will raffle off a 2000 Chrysler Concorde LXi. The tickets will be on sale at events at Fairgrounds Park, including the community yard sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Eighth Annual Harvest Hoedown from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A portion of ticket sales benefits Utility Relief Benefit efforts which raises funds to assist city residents who meet a certain criteria with utility bills. ‘Light the Night’ walk

Pre and post-walk celebrations will feature live music, food and family entertainment. There is a $25 fundraising donation. Those who raise $100 or more will receive a “Light the Night” T-shirt. Hagerstown High School class of 1941 reunion committee

Thursday, Oct. 23, 1 p.m., Elks Club, Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown. Members of the reunion committee will meet for lunch to discuss plans for the Sept. 12 and Sept. 13, 2009 reunion. Any class member that wants to serve on the reunion committee is invited to attend.

Marvin Hurley’s orchestra students

Saturday Oct. 25, covered dish dinner at 5 p.m. followed by alumni orchestra concert at 8 p.m., North Hagerstown High School, 1200 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. All former students from North Hagerstown and South Hagerstown high schools are invited plus parents and friends. There will be a A special tribute for Mr. Hurley is planned at the concert. South Hagerstown High School alumni homecoming game tailgate party
