Ralph H. Kee Sr.
ELKTON, Va. - Ralph Hensel Kee Sr., 85, of Elkton, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.
Born Aug. 20, 1917, in Franklin, W.Va., he was the son of the late Olen and Lona Eye Kee.
He was a partner of Ken Airey Volkswagen Service and a self-employed mechanic. He also was a bus driver for Friendship Industries and worked at Kee's Amoco in Harrisonburg for the last several years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from 1942 to 1945 in the European Theater. He was awarded the Five Star Cluster.
He was a member of Rion-Bowman VFW Post 632 of Harrisonburg.
He is survived by his wife, Wilda Donovan Kee, whom he married May 13, 1940; one daughter, Paula J. McDonald of Elkton; four sons, Ralph H. Kee Jr. and Charles A. Kee, both of Harrisonburg, Douglas W. Kee of Elkton and William Kee of Shenandoah, Va.; three sisters, Lorraine Booten of Elkton, Dorothy Sites of Keezletown, Va., and Louise Rexrode of Harrisonburg; one brother, Aubrey Kee of Harrisonburg; nine grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Harrisonburg, Va. Pastor Jeff Ferguson, and the Revs. Gary Edenfield and Doug Dowdey will officiate. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home, Elkton.

Mildred M. Sollenberger
Mildred Mae Sollenberger, 75, of 13520 Red Brick Lane, Hagerstown, died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 20, 1928, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Jacob A. and Florence E. Strite Grove.
She was employed as a real estate agent by Ted Brendle Associates.
She was a member of Hollowell Brethren in Christ Church, where she was chairperson of the Ladies Sewing Auxiliary.
She and her husband spent seven years as missionaries in Africa as part of a community resource program.
She served on the Board of Cumberland Valley Relief Service and was a volunteer of Mennonite Disaster Service.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Chester H. Sollenberger; two sons, Greg R. Sollenberger of Sarasota, Fla., and Jeff L. Sollenberger of Hagerstown; one brother, Roy A. Grove of Hagerstown; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ella Baer and Mary Ebersole; and two brothers, Irvin Grove and Harold Grove.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hollowell Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro, Pa. The Revs. Blaine Lougheed and Marlin Ressler will officiate.
Entombment will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown.

Theron H. Spring
WILLIAMSPORT - A memorial service for Theron Hardwick Spring, 96, of 16505 Virginia Ave., who died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport. The Rev. Richard A. Kroll will officiate.

George C. Fair
GETTYSBURG, Pa. - George C. Fair, 76, of Gettysburg, died Monday, March 10, 2003, at his home.
Born June 12, 1926, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late C. Leslie and M. Agnes Rohrbaugh Fair.
He was a 1950 graduate of Gettysburg College.
He worked as a sales representative for Swift and Company in Baltimore from 1952 to 1959. He and his wife owned The Perfect Rest Motel in Gettysburg from 1959 to 1988.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg.
He was a member of Good Samaritan Lodge 336 F&AM, Zembo Temple, Harrisburg Consistory, VFW Post 15 of Gettysburg, past president of Gettysburg Lions Club, member of Albert J. Lentz Post 202 American Legion and a PIAA basketball official.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Yvonne Forry Fair, one daughter, Marjorie F. Seilhamer of Hagerstown; one son, Neil C. Fair of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Charles L. Fair and Kenneth L. Fair, both of Gettysburg; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg. The Revs. Samuel Schmitthenner and Judith Gausch will officiate.
Private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.

Grayson E. Flook Jr.
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Grayson Edward Flook Jr., 66, of 8195 Middle Court, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born July 26, 1936, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Grayson Edward Sr. and Sadie Elizabeth Barkdoll Flook.
He retired as an installer from C&P Telephone Co., now known as Bell Atlantic.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown.
He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 of Hagerstown, Potomac Fish and Game Club of Williamsport, Telephone Pioneers of America and Communication Workers of America.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Kobaleski Flook; one son, Kyle E. Flook of Hagerstown; one sister, Tooky Blumenauer of Lewes, Del.; and one granddaughter.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown. The Rev. Brian Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Freda V. Shingleton
Freda Virginia Shingleton, 69, of 15207 National Pike, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
Born June 3, 1933, in Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edgar James Wright and Mildred Virginia Spurling Wright.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lovett Shingleton.
She was formerly employed by Hagerstown Kitchens and Maryland Maid Kitchens and was last employed by Wiles Upholstery Co.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley D. Baker of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one son, Gary Wright of Hagerstown; two sisters, Ruby Durst of Clear Spring and Betty Jones of Cascade; two brothers, John Wright of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kenneth Wright of Hagerstown; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Shirley Baker, at 129 Oriole Lane, Falling Waters.
Arrangements are by Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Clear Spring.
June H. Smith
HANCOCK - June Helen Smith, 59, of Quaker Creek, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at her home.
Born June 1, 1943, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Carl and Catherine I. Snyder Creek.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Hancock Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, John B. Smith, whom she married Sept. 11, 1959; one daughter, Debbie Dawson of Great Cacapon, W.Va.; three sons, Johnny Smith and Bradley Smith, both of Hancock, and Eddie Smith of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one sister, Wanda Seiders of Erin, Tenn.; two brothers, Jim Creek and Vernon Creek, both of Hancock; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Smith.
A service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hancock Church of God. The Rev. Eugene Harne will officiate. Burial will be in Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Hancock.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock and Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral home will open today at 4 p.m.

Betty L. Silver
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Betty Lorraine Silver, 74, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs.
Born April 1, 1928, in Cherry Run, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Margie Litten Starliper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood R. Silver, in 1995.
She attended Cherry Run School.
She had been employed by Dunn Woolen Mill, Interwoven in Martinsburg, W.Va., and Crossroads Canning Co.
She was a member of Bethel Independent Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Anna Charoensawadsiri of Raleigh, N.C., and Deborah K. Brown of Berkeley Springs; three sisters, Oleta Cain of Berkeley Springs, Mary Apple of Cherry Run and Dorothy Stuckey of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert E. Silver; five sisters, Violet Householder, Mattie Bohrer, Nancy Weicht, Norma Jean Hoover and Sarah Clark; and three brothers, Harry Starliper, Marshall Starliper and Billy E. Seckman.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Kenneth Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Michael S. Jacobs
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Michael Scott Jacobs, of Martinsburg, died Monday, March 10, 2003.
Born Thursday, March 6, 2003, at City Hospital, he was the son of Ricky and Emilee Jacobs of Martinsburg.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by grandparents, Floyd and Rose Lee Jacobs and Pam and Bob Crouse; great-grandparents, Naomi Dodson, Milton and Barbara Miller and Gertrude Crouse; several aunts; uncles and cousins.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Butlers Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Lowans will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Harry B. Warner Jr.
Harry B. Warner Jr., 80, of 423 Summit Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at his home.
Graveside services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown. The Rev. David B. Kaplan will officiate.
Arrangements are by Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
William D. Ardrey
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - William D. "Bill" Ardrey, 50, of 1311 S. Fourth St., died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born June 29, 1952, in Huntingdon, Pa., he was the son of Cora Woods Ardrey of Chambersburg and the late David H. Ardrey.
He was employed as a cook for the Franklin County Prison for three years. Previously, he was employed as a cook for Scotland School for Veteran's Children in Scotland, Pa.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Cherie Yeager of Fayetteville, Pa.; three brothers, Steve Ardrey, Raymond Ardrey and Larry Ardrey, all of Chambersburg; his friend, Gary Judd; three nieces and three nephews.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Broad Top Cemetery, Broad Top, Pa., with military graveside services conducted by members of Saxton VFW and Broad Top American Legion Joint Military Drill Squad.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Harry F. Bottorf Jr.
Harry Fenton Bottorf Jr., 84, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born Sept. 21, 1918, in Williamsport, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry F. Bottorf Sr. and Mabel Mary Shilling Bottorf.
He was a graduate of Williamsport (Pa.) High School.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.
He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.
He was a member, past president and district treasurer of Maugansville Ruritan Club.
He founded Hagerstown Little League in 1949.
He helped with Boy Scouts Troop 4 of Hagerstown and Troop 64 of Maugansville.
He was a member of Hagerstown Municipal Band.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam Elizabeth Reeder Bottorf; one daughter, Margaret Long of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one son, Harry F. Bottorf III of La Plata, Md.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, J. Stanford Bottorf and T. Gordan Bottorf.
Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown. The Rev. Kenneth S. Valentine will officiate. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
