Tractor-trailer fire causes backup on I-70
BIG POOL — Traffic was backed up on eastbound Interstate 70 near Big Pool for more than five hours Friday morning while authorities removed a tractor-trailer that caught fire, Maryland State Police said.
Both eastbound lanes were open by 11:30 a.m.
The tractor-trailer fire took place at the 9-mile marker, but traffic was backed up to about the 6-mile marker by midmorning, police said. The left lane remained open to traffic.
Police said no one was injured when the tractor-trailer caught fire at about 5:30 a.m. Friday.
