Battlefield Surgery

George Wunderlich, executive director of the National Museum of Civil War Medicine in Frederick, Md., talks about battlefield surgery during the Civil War. He is standing near a display at the field hospital museum in the Pry House, which served as a hospital during the Battle of Antietam. The Pry House, which is on Antietam National Battlefield, also was General George B. McClellan's headquarters during the battle.
