Glimpsed at Work: Kolleen Kilduff
Kolleen Kilduff, 39, uses her sense of aesthetics on the job as senior art director at Devaney & Associates, and on herself, in a style she describes as "a little bit retro and a little bit gypsy eclectic." "I usually buy inexpensive clothes, but I try to have one piece that's eye-catching," says the Hamilton resident. When we "glimpsed" her on the job at her Towson office, that piece was a sequin embellished black and white print cotton gypsy skirt that she's had for a few years. She added a red cotton a.n.a. tank from JC Penney and black polished cotton ruched short sleeve MKM jacket she'd picked up at Dots Fashions. Her gray woven leather Rebels T-strap cork platform sandal was a Marshalls purchase. She bought her watch at the Fossil store and her red leather Apostrophe bag was a gift. Her oxidized silver chain earrings, jasper and oxidized silver pendant, and her oxidized silver and white pressed glass ring were all came from Jill Popowich Designs on etsy.com. "I spend my money on handmade accessories. I try to put all my money into supporting local crafters." That's an industry Kilduff is a part of. She makes hair ornaments, like the cream silk and chiffon number she's wearing, which she sells on etsy.com and at indie craft shows.
