Layering effect

From the ground one can see the layering of low plants like dianthus in the foreground, medium-tall plants like salvia in the center, and Japanese maple and crape myrtle trees in back. Shirley Lustek is a winner in the Garden Contest for her unique common-land garden, which she has to scale an 8-foot wall to maintain. She wanted to have garden views from her townhouse windows and deck.
