The Blue Jays play a critical game Saturday against Virginia at M&T Bank Stadium in the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic. In losses to Princeton and Syracuse, Hopkins has blown too many defensive assignments, shot poorly from the midfield and too often committed careless turnovers. Defensively, the Jays look like they are suffering from paralysis by analysis. Simplifying assignments and schemes is a prerequisite for success Saturday. Expect coach Dave Pietramala, above, to make subtle lineup changes.
