Matt Wieters (pictured) delivered another solid performance both at the plate (.286) and behind it, and Taylor Teagarden stepped in once to deliver a key performance against the White Sox with two run-scoring hits to boost their combined batting average for the week to .333 (8-for-24). Teagarden is having a curious season. He has just five hits in 38 at-bats (.132), but four of those hits have been been for extra bases, all of which drove in runs and two of which won games in extra innings. Both catchers also did a very solid job guiding the pitching staff through a very successful week against very tough competition.
