CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. —One teenager died and another teenager was in critical condition after a single-vehicle accident Saturday night in downtown Chambersburg, Chambersburg Police Department Chief David Arnold said Sunday.
Jorge Adrian Navarro, 17, of 455 Madison Ave. in Chambersburg, was pronounced dead at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center, according to a news release from Chambersburg police.
A 13-year-old passenger was airlifted to Hershey Medical Center, where the teen was in critical condition with head and leg trauma, according to the news release sent Sunday afternoon.
A vehicle went into a pole on North Main Street, at the hard turn in front of the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, north of Falling Spring Creek, Arnold said.
The call for the accident in the 200 block of North Main Street came in at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, according to Franklin County Emergency Services.
Navarro was driving a 2001 Hyundai coupe that hit a utility pole at 224 N. Main St., according to the news release.
The crash was being investigated by the Chambersburg Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team, the release states.
