The Rush would respond with a late power play push as Taggart Desmet rebounded home his first goal in a Rush uniform off a shot by Jordan Behler with only 0.7 seconds left knotting the game 1-1 by first intermission.
Jordan Behler carried the momentum into the second period for the Rush firing in his 5th goal of the season and second point of the night with the shot from the blue line. The Cutthroats would quiet the house with goals by A.J Gale off a breakaway at 6:02, and J.P. Chabot to reclaim the lead at the 8:10 mark. T he Rush would tie the game at 13:29 with a rebound goal by Scott Brannon with assist credited to Justin Faryna. The back-and-forth game continued as A.J. Gale completed the hat trick, tallying his 44th goal this season giving Denver the 4-3 lead by periods end.
Scott Brannon brought the crowd to their feet capitalizing on the rebound off a shot from Jared Brown at 5:38 in the third period. Rusty Masters would hit the go-ahead-goal for the Rush at 11:27 off a sharp pass from Jesse Schultz. However, Troy Schwab potted the equalizer for Denver with just 1:03 left in regulation sending the contest to the sixth overtime between these two teams this season.
The Cutthroats would take advantage of a Rush penalty in overtime as A.J Gale would score his fourth goal of the night lifting Denver over the Rush 6-5.
