BIG POOL—
A traffic accident that occurred after 1 p.m. Monday on Interstate 70 west of Big Pool caused traffic problems in western Washington County early Monday afternoon.
As of 2:15 p.m., traffic on westbound Interstate 70 near the crash site was moving slowly, and was backed up for about a mile and a half.
Both westbound lanes were closed immediately after the crash. One lane had reopened by 2 p.m., and both lanes were open by about 2:30 p.m., according to the Maryland Department of Transportation website.
By 2:40 p.m., traffic was flowing smoothly near the crash site.
