Westbound Interstate 70 was shut down between Exit 24 and Interstate 81 due to a single-vehicle accident, a Washington County 911 dispatcher said. Occupants of the vehicle were being checked for minor injuries, the dispatcher said.
The accident occurred about 3:35 p.m. in the westbound lanes, the dispatcher said.
At 4:15, traffic was backed up past the exit for Md. 65, according to motorist.
I-70 was reopened at 4:30 p.m.
