CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — GDC, a leading information-technology-solutions provider in the Quad-state area, met the requirements set forth by Microsoft’s Gold Competency Program for the seventh consecutive year.
GDC continues to maintain Silver Desktop, Silver Midmarket Solution Provider and Silver Server Platform competencies, as well as Small Business Specialist Community membership.
GDC has again obtained the Gold Web Development Competency by not only having highly trained and certified experts on staff, but by proving its abilities through customer references and customer satisfaction ratings. To date, fewer than 1 percent of Microsoft partners have gained a Gold Competency since Microsoft’s restructuring of its partner program.
In addition, GDC was contracted by JLG Industries Inc., an Oshkosh Corp. company, to assist in the design, development, testing and release of a free mobile app for its Online Express customer portal. The mobile app is available for the Apple iPhone and iPad devices, and can be downloaded from the iTunes store.
The app is available for any JLG customer who has a username and password for Online Express. Users can scan a machine’s bar code — or manually enter its serial number — and receive information about that machine, including in-service dates and parts lists. Customers also can view manuals, research pricing and availability, build orders and check on their order status.

Reliable Office Technologies
FREDERICK, Md. — Sharp Imaging and Information Co. of America, or SIICA, a division of Sharp Electronics Corp., recently announced it recognized Reliable Office Technologies in Frederick as a Platinum Level Service Provider for its high level of achievement in service delivery.
The Sharp program was designed to distinguish service organizations that not only meet, but exceed performance benchmarks and the implementation of best practices in this area.
To qualify for the program and be eligible to receive the Platinum Level Service Provider Award, an organization must meet several criteria that demonstrate excellent training, education, service support and customer satisfaction. The recognized companies must show commitment to training by having 100 percent Gold-certified technicians, certified on all current models for each sales office, as well as at least one technician per office that is certified in CompTIA PDI+ and CompTIA Net+ standards.
In addition, the organization needs to have written service-level agreements with its customers and commit to provide quick on-site response (less than four hours) and loaner machines within 24 hours in the event of system failures. They must also follow all preventive maintenance guidelines and practice written total call procedures to maximize mean copies between visits.
NaturaLawn of America Inc.
FREDERICK, Md.—NaturaLawn of America Inc. recently launched its new retail brand — the Natural Alternative Lawn Care System — designed to provide better efficacy and health benefits for its customers, and their families and pets.
The Do-It-Yourself Natural Alternative line consists of five applications that meet and exceed the new fertilizer regulations passed in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. These regulations are part of the national Chesapeake Bay mandate to reduce nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients.
The retail line was introduced in fall 2011 when restoration work for the Chesapeake Bay Program’s “milestones” — two-year, short-term goals — began. These milestones have helped Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia meet their state goals for reducing pollution in the bay.
Natural Alternative products are now being shipped to independent garden centers for the spring season.
Headquartered in Frederick, NaturaLawn of America Inc. is a national franchise offering organic-based services and products to people seeking safer lawn and garden alternatives, as well as a full line of retail lawn and garden products.
