MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Dr. Christopher M. Spiess, anesthesiologist, recently joined Eastern Panhandle Anesthesia Associates, based at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Spiess recently completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Louisville Hospitals in Kentucky. He holds a doctor of medicine degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, W.Va., where he graduated with honors in medical ethics.

Having completed his third and fourth years of medical school in the Eastern Panhandle through the WVU School of Medicine’s Eastern Division, Spiess is returning to the area with his wife and daughter to practice in Martinsburg.

Eastern Panhandle Anesthesia Associates provides complete anesthesia services to surgical patients at City Hospital. The group includes Drs. Jack Shamblin, Satish Menon, Sally McLellan and Frederic D’Alauro.

Shenandoah Community Health Center

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Dr. Sarah B. Hardy, pediatrician, recently joined Shenandoah Community Health Center and the medical staff at West Virginia University Hospitals-East’s City Hospital.

Hardy received her medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine, and completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Vermont, Vermont Children’s Hospital at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

A member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Hardy’s clinical interests include general pediatrics, care of newborns and the effects of maternal drug use.

Liz Weber

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — Liz Weber, a leadership consultant and speaker based in Greencastle, is now one of only 12 leadership experts in the country to hold both the Certified Speaking Professional, or CSP, and Certified Management Consultant, or CMC, designations.

Weber was awarded the CSP designation July 15 at the National Speakers Association’s annual convention in Indianapolis. Conferred by the National Speakers Association, the CSP is the speaking profession’s international measure of professional platform competence. Only the top 10 percent of speakers earn this credential.

The CSP designation is earned through demonstrating competence in platform skills, business management, education and association.

Weber earned the CMC from the Institute of Management Consultants in 2005.

Andrew F. Wilkinson recently joined Divelbiss & Associates, Attorneys at Law.

Wilkinson is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and Emory University School of Law. He worked in private practice for nine years before joining the Office of the County Attorney in Washington County as an assistant county attorney in 2006. He specializes in business law and contracts, civil litigation, and land use and development.
