Walnut Street Community Health Center

Rhonda G. McMillian and Anthony D. Dicello recently were hired by the Walnut Street Community Health Center.

McMillian is serving as a  psychiatrist in the integrated mental health program. Her expertise covers a broad range of disorders, including bipolar disorder, major depression, panic disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity, post-traumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder and women’s health, including premenstrual syndrome.

After earning a Bachelor of Science from Howard University in Washington, D.C., McMillian earned her medical doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. She completed her residency in general psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, D.C., and followed that with a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry from Children’s National Medical Center, which is affiliated with George Washington University School of Medicine.

McMillian is board-certified in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has performed research related to depression and anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and post-traumatic stress. Most recently she practiced with Northwest Behavioral Medicine in Roswell, Ga.

Dicello joined the health center’s dental practice as a general dentist. His expertise includes restorative dental care for children and adults and performing extractions as needed.

Dicello graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School. Prior to joining Walnut Street Dental Practice, he lived and practiced with the Indian Health Service on the Navajo reservation in northern Arizona and practiced at Tuba City Regional HealthCare Corp., a regional hospital in Arizona.

West Virginia University Hospitals-East

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The American Hospital Association Certification Center recently announced that Marilys Gilbert, director of quality and risk management at West Virginia University Hospitals-East, earned the designation of certified professional in healthcare risk management.

The national credential distinguishes an individual as being among the elite in a critical field of health care management. Gilbert, who has more than 26 years of health care risk-management experience, has been with WVUH-East since June 2009.

To earn the designation, an individual must satisfy eligibility requirements that incorporate a blend of work experience and education, agree to adhere to professional standards of conduct and pass an exam.

Washington County Community Mediation Center

Shakira Doleman and Margaret Izzi Sevco are the new AmeriCorps member at Washington County Community Mediation Center.

The two began serving Oct. 1, and will serve until August 2013.

AmeriCorps is a national network of programs that engages more than 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet critical needs in communities throughout the nation.

Doleman joins AmeriCorps and the mediation center with a background in sociology and human services.
Sevco has a background in education, theater and holistic health.

The Washington County Community Mediation Center offers mediation at no cost to Washington County residents. Mediation at the center is a voluntary, confidential process for resolving disputes in which professionally trained, neutral and nonjudgmental volunteer mediators help people involved in a dispute to understand each other, and if possible, to reach agreements that satisfy their needs.

Officer Jonathan Lippy was named the Hagerstown Police Department’s officer of the month for September.
