Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA
GREENCASTLE, Pa. — Scott Palmer and Peggy Hays, with Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA, were recognized as agents of the month for October in the Greencastle office.
The award is given based on the number of listings taken, sales, made and closed sales, as well as attendance at Realtor functions and continuing-education classes completed.
Palmer has been selling real estate for 26 years and is an associate broker. He lives in Greencastle with his wife, Dawn, and daughter.
Hays is licensed in Pennsylvania and Maryland. She has been selling real estate for 27 years and lives in the State Line, Pa., area with her husband, Jack.
Edward Jones
• Terrie Hall recently joined the St. James Village office of the financial services firm Edward Jones as a branch office administrator trainee.
Hall’s activities could include processing client trade transactions, providing clients with receipts for money and securities, and assisting in the planning of seminars and special promotions, Paul Buck, local financial adviser to the firm, said in a news release.
Hall must successfully complete the firm’s training program within six months to graduate from the trainee designation into the position of branch office administrator. The program consists of online modules that are grouped into study weeks. Each study week ends with a test; there also are mid-term and final exams.
Hall has lived in Hagerstown for 25 years.
• Joan Bowers, an Edward Jones financial adviser in Hagerstown, recently received the firm’s Goodknight Plan Completion Recognition Award for her efforts to provide a greater level of service to her clients while helping the firm continue its steady growth.
The Goodknight program enables an incoming financial adviser to work with a veteran financial adviser in a close, mentoring relationship. Part of that mentoring includes a provision that allows the veteran financial adviser to transition some of his or her clients to another Edward Jones financial adviser in order to improve client service and grow the Edward Jones branch office network.
The Goodknight program started in 1978 when then-financial adviser Jim Goodknight gave away part of his business and changed the way Edward Jones does business. The Goodknight program has spread to the firm’s affiliate in Canada, where Edward Jones also has branch offices.
