COLUMBUS, Ohio — Branndon Kelley, a 1997 graduate of Hedgesville (W.Va.) High School who did course work at Shepherd College, now Shepherd University, recently was named chief information officer of the year in the small-group category in Energy Central’s Knowledge, Innovation, Technology and Excellence, or KITE, awards.
The awards recognize utility information technology and customer service executives who excel in their respective areas.
Kelley is the CIO of American Municipal Power in Columbus, a nonprofit entity providing wholesale power to 128 member municipal utilities in six states. He was honored for transforming the role and functionality of information technology, including data center and architecture modernizations, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition and security upgrades.

BOONSBORO — Ann Kastle of Martinsburg, W.Va., recently was promoted to the position of customer relations and sales specialist at ThompsonGas.
Kastle has worked at ThompsonGas since October 2000, first as a sales associate in Charles Town, W.Va., Boonsboro and Purcellville, Va., then as a customer service representative for the past two years in Ranson, W.Va.
In her new role, she is responsible for sales and customer service in the Berkeley Springs, W.Va. office.
Kastle began her career selling electronic components in Baltimore before devoting her time to raising a family. She returned to the workplace in 2000 as a sales associate at ThompsonGas. For the past two years, she has been providing customer service, and sharing her knowledge to ThompsonGas customers and staff.
