Chambersburg Country Club
SCOTLAND, Pa. — Jameson Wallace has been named the new general manager/head golf professional at Chambersburg (Pa.) Country Club.
Wallace takes the title after serving the previous three seasons as the club’s PGA head golf professional.
Wallace, 25, also will become the youngest current general manager/head professional in the Philadelphia Section of the PGA.
He has an extensive background in the industry. A 2007 graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a degree in finance and a specialization in professional golf management, Wallace has spent more than 12 seasons in the golf and private club industry.
Before joining the team in Chambersburg, he was a staff member at Grande Dunes Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where he was awarded 2008 PGA Assistant Professional of the Year (Carolinas Section). He also served as an intern at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md., and Bulle Rock in Aberdeen, Md.
Wallace is a certified PGA professional (retail), a member of the Association of Golf Merchandisers and a Titleist staff member.
Maryland Correctional Training Center
TOWSON, Md. — Brent Mills, correctional officer II, was named employee of the month for January at Maryland Correctional Training Center.
Mills is assigned to the institution’s information-technology department for routine computer assistance and troubleshooting. Recently, he took on scheduling and training staff for the soon-to-be-implemented Offender Case Management System.
Mills has been employed at MCTC since Nov. 29, 2004.
Roxbury Correctional Institution
TOWSON, Md. — Ray Riffey, correctional officer lieutenant, was named the supervisor of the quarter at Roxbury Correctional Institution. He volunteers on special teams within the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, and at RCI. He also supervises the daily operation of the disciplinary segregation unit.
Riffey has been employed with the State of Maryland since September 2001.
James Wills, correctional officer II, was named January’s employee of the month because of his observation skills. He found and confiscated contraband someone attempted to send into the institution.
Wills has been employed with the State of Maryland since July 2008.
West Virginia University Hospitals-East
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — West Virginia University Hospitals-East and Dr. James E. Brown recently announced the opening of WVUH-East Obstetrics/Gynecology and the addition of Dr. Maria D. Merzouk to the practice.
Merzouk, a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist, has been an assistant professor of OB/GYN at the WVU School of Medicine in Morgantown, W.Va., since 2006. For the past year, she served as the director of medical student clerkship for OB/GYN.
