Hampton Inn & Suites
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Uniwest Hospitality announced recently that two primary roles at the soon-to-open Hampton Inn & Suites Charles Town have been filled.
Patrick Rinard was appointed general manager and Tara Perry was appointed director of sales and marketing.
Rinard, a lifelong resident of the Eastern Panhandle, will direct and oversee all areas of the hotel’s operations. Prior to joining Hampton Inn & Suites Charles Town, he was the general manager of the Hampton Inn Martinsburg (W.Va.). A graduate of Shepherd University, he holds a degree in business administration with a marketing concentration.
Perry, a Charles Town resident, will be responsible for establishing relationships with area businesses and associations, and developing preferred accounts while assisting with group reservations.
Perry has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Most recently, she served as the opening general manager of the Charles Town Auto Wash, which, like the Hampton Inn Charles Town, is operated by Falls Church, Va.-based Uniwest Hospitality.
The 131-room hotel, at 157 Pimlico Drive in Charles Town, is under construction and scheduled to open its doors in mid-January.
Meyers, Young & Grove, P.A.
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Ann Marie Rotz, esquire, of Meyers, Young & Grove, P.A., a Hagerstown law firm that focuses on business, estate, probate and tax planning, joined the faculty of the Grove College of Business at Shippensburg University this fall as an adjunct professor.
Rotz is teaching about the American legal environment to undergraduate business students. The course introduces business students to the American legal system, contract formation, business organizations, regulations affecting business and employment law, among other topics.
Rotz actively practices in Pennsylvania and Maryland, and is licensed in Georgia. She focuses her practice on business planning, trusts, estate planning, estate administration and contracts.
Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA
WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Yvette Valentin and Kurt Wetzel joined the team of sales professionals at Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA’s Waynesboro office.
Valentin and Wetzel are licensed to list and sell all types of real estate in Pennsylvania. She is a member of National Association of Realtors, Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, Pen Mar Regional Association of Realtors and Metropolitan Regional Information Systems.
Valentin has five years of experience in real estate financing and more than 21 years in mortgage customer service.
Valentin lives in Waynesboro with her husband and four children.
Wetzel is participating in Jack Gaughen’s in-house training program that is designed to give new salespeople a jump-start in the real estate business.
Wetzel grew up in the Waynesboro area and is a 1999 Waynesboro Area Senior High School graduate. He has worked at Lehigh Phoenix, Hagerstown, in finishing and shipping since 1999.
Keller Stonebraker Insurance Inc.
John A. Latimer IV joined Keller Stonebraker Insurance Inc. as a senior commercial insurance account executive.
Latimer is a 1992 graduate of St. Maria Goretti High School and a 1996 graduate of Emory and Henry College.
Latimer has been active in the Hagerstown business community since his graduation from college. He has also served as a volunteer with a number of local civic organizations, including being past president of the United Way of Washington County, active member of the Hagerstown Rotary Club, and as a volunteer and past fire chief of the Longmeadow Volunteer Fire Co.
Latimer lives in Hagerstown with his wife, Cassandra, and their son, Austin.
Roxbury Correctional Institution
TOWSON, Md. — Harold W. Myers, correctional officer II, is the November employee of the month at Roxbury Correctional Institution.
Myers was selected for his recent recovery of contraband from an inmate after surveillance and action.
He has been employed by the state of Maryland since January 2001.
Maryland Correctional Training Center
TOWSON, Md. — Jack Weathers, correctional case management specialist II, is the November employee of the month at Maryland Correctional Training Center.
Weathers has worked as an inmate segregation manager for the past four years with a caseload that demands the work to be done in a timely manner. He is always willing to take on additional tasks outside his work assignments, including fundraising events for charitable organizations, according to a news release from the Maryland Department of Safety and Correctional Services.
Weathers has been employed at MCTC since July 31, 2006.
Gosia Carter joined the team of professionals at RE/MAX Achievers, 222 E. Oak Ridge Drive, Suite 2000 in Hagerstown.
Carter is licensed in Maryland and is “short-sale certified.”
