Officer Ron Isaacs was selected as the Hagerstown Police Department’s officer of the month for July.
Isaacs was nominated for his proactive policing skills. On July 5, while he was on patrol in his assigned sector, he observed several males attempting to leave the area in a vehicle that was parked in an alley. A female flagged Isaacs down and advised him that the occupants of the vehicle had just broken into her residence and that one of the males had a gun.
As Isaacs approached the vehicle, several of the occupants fled on foot. He was able to apprehend one of the suspects, who was later identified as the suspect with the gun. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted, and located two of the other occupants of the vehicle.
A pellet gun was found in the car.
