Entrepreneurs will gather Sept. 27 in Hagerstown as the Pitch Across Maryland Bus Tour makes its latest stop for a two-hour rally celebrating entrepreneurship in Hagerstown and Washington County.
The event will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at University System of Maryland at Hagerstown’s University Plaza, 32 W. Washington St. in Hagerstown.
Start-ups at all stages may bring their pitches and a thirst for wisdom to the rally, which is being hosted by the Hagerstown-Washington County Economic Development Commission. Information about local, regional and state entrepreneurial resources will be shared, and entrepreneurs will get coaching and support from business mentors and other leaders of Maryland’s innovation economy.
The bus — covered in the Maryland flag — will be outfitted with a studio where entrepreneurs can record a video pitch. The public will vote online for finalists, and the top eight will present their pitches at November's Maryland Entrepreneur Expo, where two winners will receive invitations to the mid-Atlantic’s highest-profile venture capital conferences.
The tour will conclude Sept. 28 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md., with a celebration of entrepreneurship featuring speakers, networking activities and start-up strategizing.
