The Hagerstown Business & Professional Women’s Club recently celebrated National Business Women’s Week at Hager Hall Conference & Event Center.
Martin Brubaker, a member of the Hagerstown City Council, and Washington County Commissioner Ruth Anne Callaham presented proclamations supporting National Business Women’s Week to Granis Dixon, president of the Hagerstown Business & Professional Women’s Club. Both government representatives acknowledged the many women holding positions in local government and volunteering on commissions and committees.
The program featured three women business owners who talked about their businesses, the challenges they have experienced and their goals for the future. The panelists were Carol Craig of Hair After; Vickie Hrabal of Oak Hill Interior Design; and Jo Ellen Soesbee of Toolbox TomGirl. The Business Spotlight featured Bella Salon & Spa.
The objectives of National Business Women’s Week are to promote full participation and equity for women in the workplace; to publicize the achievements of business and professional women on the local and state levels; and to publicize the objectives and programs of the Business & Professional Women’s Club as they relate to the millions of business and professional women across the country.
National Business Women’s Week originated in 1928.
The Hagerstown club meets the first Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at Hager Hall Conference & Event Center. For more information about membership, call Donna Smith at 301-797-8761.
