How did you get into your business, and what motivated you to start it? HeartyPet.com, an online store, started in July 2006 because the owner, Blair, was unhappy with her shopping experience with other online pet-supply companies. She knew that other customers felt the same way and wanted to give pet owners the proper pet supply-buying experience. She valued high-quality products because of the benefits they bring to pets. We decided now was the time to open up a retail store because of the amount of requests we were receiving from local customers who wanted to pick up their products. This gave us the assurance that residents in this area needed a place to purchase their products. We chose Hagerstown Premium Outlets because of its accessibility and the fact that it is pet-friendly.
Previous business experience: Several members of the company have backgrounds in business, computer science, Web design, graphics and shipping.
