Waynesboro Hospital recently received state and national recognition from two agencies for outstanding performance.
The hospital received the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Above and Beyond Award for Excellence in Health Care Compliance, one of only seven hospitals statewide to receive the recognition.
The award was presented to Waynesboro Hospital because the 62-bed, nonprofit hospital demonstrated superior performance in following the agency’s regulations.
Waynesboro Hospital also was recently awarded the Joint Commission’s Top Performer Award. The award was given to the top 18 percent of hospitals across the country for their excellence in using evidence-based treatments to care for patients.
The two awards arrived at a special time, as Waynesboro Hospital is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.
