"Memphis" won the 2010 Tony Award with music inspired by the 1950s -- but it's not just a jukebox musical. The tunes by David Bryan (of Bon Jovi) are original; the book is by Joe DiPietro ("I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change"). Loosely based on a true story of a 1950s Memphis disc jockey who was one of the first white DJs to play black music on the air. And who fell in love with a beautiful Beale Street singer in the process.
