( January 3, 2012 ) Melissa Gilliam, MD, has been appointed associate dean of diversity for the University of Chicago's Division of Biological Sciences effective Jan. 1, 2012. Gilliam, 46, professor of obstetrics and gynecology and professor of pediatrics, is also head of the Program in Gynecology for Children, Adolescents and Young Adults and heads the fellowship in family planning. She obtained her MD at Harvard Medical School, completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and earned her MPH from the University of Illinois at Chicago. |
