( Alex Syphers | Special to CTnow.com / September 7, 2012 ) Frank Mirto, of Cheshire, came to the Waterbury-Oxford Airport Friday afternoon to observe the World War Two fighters and bombers on display at the Collings Foundation's Wings of Freedom Tour. Mirto served in the United States Air Force from 1947 to 1953, where he worked as a mechanic on a reconnaissance version of the P-51 Mustang. |
