Fundraising heating up

Markleton resident Charlie Kreger has joined forces with local churches, businesses and individuals to raise money toward the construction of a memorial honoring veterans who have served in the military since World War II. The memorial will be a long awaited addition to the Upper Turkeyfoot Township Roll of Honor, which honors World War I and World War II veterans. Pictured are war veterans Laurie Knepper, Harold Faidley, Calvin Cramer and Clifford Swearman with a thermostat showing the progress of raising funds for the new memorial. Kreger said donations are still needed to complete the project. Donations should be made can be sent to: Somerset Trust Company, 612 Logan Place, Confluence, attention: Veterans Memorial Fund.
