( Submitted photo ) The Geiger/Cupp School reunion was held July 23. Those who came were from left, first row: Phyllis (Moon) Paul, Dorothy (Miller) Deffenbaugh, Audrey (Bent) Ludy, Roy Shockey, Dalton Watkins and John Baer. Middle row: Jackie (Lambert) Kimmel. Back row: Harry Watkins, Lawrence Hottle, John Mostoller, Lloyd Watkins, Helen (Baer) Bruno, Kathleen (Miller) Friedline, Betsy (Mostoller) Vettori and David Tipton. Twenty-eight attended. Geiger School opened in 1904 and the one-room school closed in 1955. Eva Smith was the teacher. The attendees came from around Somerset and one from Ohio. They talked about how the school looked when they went there and about things that happened. Refreshments were available. Next year's reunion will be on Aug. 11, 2012. |
