Harry and David
Harry and David kicked off the third annual Support Our Troops with Moose Munch bars, which allows families, friends and supporters of the U.S. military to purchase Moose Munch treats and ship them to war zones.
The gourmet gift retailer, which has an outlet near Hagerstown, has once again teamed up with Soldiers' Angels, a nonprofit agency that ships care packages to U.S. soldiers in combat, to deliver chocolate to troops. Last year, more than 38,000 Moose Munch bars were shipped to soldiers in Afghanistan and other regions through the program, which this year ends on July 4.
Harry and David stores nationwide are offering customers the opportunity to purchase Moose Munch bars and gift them to soldiers with a personalized greeting. Each bar and note is packaged with a plastic spoon and boxed for pickup via Soldiers' Angels. The heat melts the signature chocolate, caramel corn and nuts confection into a gooey treat that makes it easy for soldiers to enjoy the sweet taste of home.
