The Pi Theta Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Hagerstown Community College will hold the 2012 College Completion Symposium Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus.
Intended for high school and college students, this year’s symposium will feature local, state and national speakers discussing how students can overcome obstacles to complete a college degree.
Guest speakers include Guy Altieri, HCC president; Brien Poffenberger, president, Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce; Danette Howard, Maryland Secretary of Higher Education; and Rod Risley, executive director, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
A question-and-answer session will follow the speaker presentations.
Local, state and national agencies also will have information booths set up at the Kepler Center highlighting services that can help students achieve success and complete their programs of study.
This event is free and open to the public.
