Frostburg State University announced that the following area students have received scholarships for study at the university:Victoria Glass of New Market, Md., received the Academic Honor Scholarship. Glass is the daughter of Lisa Clark and attened Linganore High School.
Angela Hurry of Hagerstown received the Roy and Gi Buckheit Scholarship and Adele S. Bruchey, R.N. Nursing Scholarship. Hurry is the daughter of Mary and David Lidie and attended Smithsburg High School.
Syeda Javed of Hagerstown received the Associate Degree Scholars Award.
Alison Leathery of Jefferson, Md., received the Academic Distinction Scholarship. Leathery is the daughter of Sharon Leathery and attended Brunswick (Md.) High School.
James McGarvey of Frederick, Md., received the Adele S. Bruchey, R.N. Nursing Scholarship. McGarvey attended Haddon Heights High School.
Samantha Metz of Williamsport received the Academic Excellence Scholarship and Academic Leadership Scholarship. Metz is the daughter of Stacy Burker and attended Williamsport High School.
Jared Michael of Boonsboro received the Academic Distinction Scholarship. Michael is the son of Robin and John Michael and attended Boonsboro High School.
Loriell Mills of Williamsport received the Associate Degree Scholars Award. Mills is the daughter of Diana Zeller and attended Williamsport High School.
Jennifer Nalley of Smithsburg received the Francis A. and Lena G. Kenney Scholarship and Joshua Powell Special Education Scholarship.
Karen Ogg of Walkersville, Md., received the Associate Degree Scholars Award. Ogg attended Walkersville High School.
Patrick Peluso of Middletown, Md., received the University Scholarship. Peluso is the son of George and Jodie Brinton and attended Middletown High School.
Carilynn Richard of Walkersville received the Academic Leadership Scholarship and University Scholarship. Richard is the daughter of Mary and Gary Richard and attended Walkersville High School.
Calynne Saunders of Mercersburg, Pa., received the Associate Degree Scholars Award. Saunders is the daughter of Kent A. and Dee L. Saunders and attended James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg.
Emily Shoemaker of Hagerstown received the Alpha Delta Chi Memorial Education Scholarship. Shoemaker is the daughter of Roy and Carla Shoemaker and attended Williamsport High School.
April Startzman of Williamsport received the Dr. Leroy L. Kohler Outstanding Junior/Senior Sociology Scholarship. Startzman is the daughter of Janice McNamee.
Rosanna Turner of Hagerstown received the Associate Degree Scholars Award. Turner is the daughter of Allen and Rachel Eckstine.
