The Continuing Education and Community Services Division at Hagerstown Community College recently announced the addition of a certificate in general management as part of its American Management Association program.
Students can earn an AMA certificate by completing any five AMA management courses, said Stephanie Powers, business recruitment specialist and program manager at HCC.
In addition to the AMA certificate in general management, students also can earn an AMA certificate in human resources management by completing the general management curriculum and the AMA human resources course.
The next scheduled course, Successful Project Management, is scheduled for Thursday, July 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at HCC’s Valley Mall Center. The cost is $200 and includes the AMA textbook.
Designed for new managers and supervisors, both programs cover all aspects of management, including communications, leadership, coaching and documentation.
HCC schedules AMA courses annually and students can complete the certificate programs in one year. Classes typically meet at HCC’s Valley Mall Center, but can also be delivered on-site at area businesses.
