The Shepherdstown High School Alumni Association recently presented five scholarships to high school graduates who had relatives who graduated from Shepherdstown High or Jefferson High/Middle School.
The $500 scholarships each are funded by donations to the scholarship fund from alumni.
This year’s recipients are: Emma Barr of Shepherstown, who graduated from Jefferson High School; John Bryant of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., who graduated from Jefferson High School; Jenna Green of Sharpsburg, who graduated from Washington County Technical High School; Johnna Nicewarner of Hanover, Md., who graduated from Howard High School; and Darby O’Brien of Greer, S.C., who graduated from Riverside High School.
Each recipient received a certificate of award and achievement signed by Alumni Co-Presidents Tom and Rae Banks, and Vice President and Scholarship Chairman Zack Fleming.
