HAGERSTOWN—
St. Mary Catholic School in Hagerstown held a prayer service Sept. 12 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States. The Rev. Collin Poston led the students in prayer and 10 decades of the rosary. Ten students rang a bell one time for the 10 years.
Eighth-grade students read poems and prayers they wrote in class, and everyone sang “God Bless America.”
A flag with all the names of those who died in the attacks was held in a spot of honor.
After the ceremony, the group left in silence as a sign of respect.
