1. Hey, Abbott!

World War II Weekend will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at  Springfield Barn, Byron Park, off U.S. 11, Williamsport. The two-day weekend features military encampment, Rosie the Riveter, 1940s fashion show, battle re-enactments, Abbott and Costello show, pictured, and Spam sandwiches. Free admission. 2. Dancing the night away

3. Look to the skies

Take a tour of the night sky and learn the history of some constellations with the "Cowboy Astronomer" show. 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4. William Brish Planetarium, 820 Commonwealth Ave., Hagerstown. $3; $2 students and children, with a $10 maximum for families. 4. Standing on your head

Yoga instructor Soozie Kinstler helps participants move past their fears of standing on their hands and offers multiple ways to move into this posture. 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7. 5. Time for a hoedown

Harvest Hoedown will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, Fairgrounds Park, 351 N. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown. First 1,000 children (12 and younger) receive free pumpkin; first 750 children (12 and younger) receive free apple; free scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, hay rides, pony rides, petting zoo and Country Showcase of America Jamboree.  Go to www.hagerstownmd.org.
