2. Christmas in times of ole

Rural Heritage Village by Candlelight tour from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Washington County Rural Heritage Museum, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown. A celebration of Christmas 1876. Visitors will listen to storytellers, learn holiday customs, sing carols, and see traditions from early Washington County settlers and period decorations. 3. Meet the library staff

Smithsburg Library, 66 W. Water St., Smithsburg, will host an open house 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. Cookies and hot beverages, a mini book sale in the quiet room, a story time for all ages by the library fireplace at 7:30 p.m. There will be a free take-home craft kit for children while supplies last. 4. A ropin', ridin' good time

Wild West Matinee will be at 11:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, Tuesday Dec. 4, and Wednesday, Dec. 12. Antietam Recreation, 9745 Garis Shop Road, Hagerstown. Ed Miller will reminisce about Christmas celebrations at the Renfrew Museum house before it was a museum, when it belonged to the Nicodemus family.
