Twelve teams of four competed Sunday, July 29, in the 10th annual two-session Swiss Team Duplicate Bridge Game to raise money for Food Resources, Inc. The event was hosted by the Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club. During the 10 years, the bridge club has raised more than $7,500 for Food Resources, Inc.
Finishing first in Flight A were Dick and Lois Taylor and John and Selena Swanson. Barbara Beard, Myrna Kinman, Robert Knuff and Phil Davis placed second in Flight A and first in Flight B; and Kathy Goss, Emma Eaton, Elaine Rowe and Willa Garner came in third in Flight A. Lynn Boardman, Ron Clawson, Greg Bright and Ellie Dorsey came in fourth in Flight A. Coming in second in Flight B and first in Flight C were Jim Jenkins, Don and Jayne Gamble and Harry Stutts. Ann Leberz, David Abuhove and Bob and Sue Munger placed third in Flight B, and Sym and Ray Gallucci and Anne and Frank Carden placed fourth in Flight B.
Eight pairs competed Friday, July 27, during a meeting of the Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club.
The Cardens and Abuhove tied for first place in Flight A with Goss and Rowe. Each had a 58.33-percent game. Bill and Madeline Davis placed third in Flight A and first in Flight B with 54.76 percent, and Bruce and Aurora McDonough tied with Sara Hoyle and Bea Van Norden for second place in Flight B and first place in Flight C with 50 percent.
The Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club meets at 7 p.m. Fridays at American Legion Post 42 on Northern Avenue in Hagerstown. All bridge players are welcome. For more information, call 301-797-4627.
